Nemo and his fellow inmates at the penal colony in Kalpani are forced to build a gigantic submarine called the Nautilus. As soon as it is completed, Nemo and his confidants plan to escape using the submarine. However, when Director Crawley from the ruthless East India Trading Company arrives and demands that the Nautilus be immediately moved to Bombay for armament, Nemo is compelled to expedite his plans with whatever crew he can assemble.
